Welcome

Annual enrollment is here! It begins today and runs from Wednesday, October 23, 2024 through Wednesday, November 6, 2024*. This is your once-a-year opportunity to make your 2025 benefit elections.

As David Blumenstein tells us, woven into everything Segal does is our commitment to you. We are proud to invest in competitive rewards that help you take care of yourself and your family today and into the future.

*IT has informed us that HRConnect may be unavailable on October 26, 2024 due to scheduled maintenance; please plan accordingly.

Stay well with Segal well-being program updates

A 2025 benefit enhancement is the introduction of Lyra Health (available to all employees and their family members). Lyra will provide enhanced mental health coaching, therapy and other services in addition to traditional EAP work-life services including legal services, financial consultations, and child and eldercare referrals.

In 2025 the Everyday Well-being program will no longer cover smoking cessation submissions. Everyday well-being claim submissions will continue to be processed through HR-Benefits. Although WEX will be processing U.S. submissions, they will not be taking over the processing of Canada claims due to administrative limitations.

We ask and need you to be involved with your health

The journey to health is all our responsibility with Segal providing offerings and financial assistance. We encourage you to utilize the benefits offered.

  • Take advantage of Lyra Health for your emotional and mental well-being.
  • Submit for reimbursement of eligible well-being expenses through the Everyday well-being program.

Virtual health fair

Join us for our virtual health fair! Speak directly with representatives from The Hartford Life and Disability insurer and enter the raffle for fun prizes. Visit the virtual health fair webpage on SegalNet, containing the schedule of sessions offered by our benefit vendor partners. Complete the raffle entry for a chance to win a raffle prize from one of our benefit vendor partners. The deadline for entries is November 6, 2024.

Review 2025 coverage and contributions

Please set aside time now to review details of the 2025 coverage as well as the contribution rates for 2025, to make sure you’re enrolled in the right plans and taking full advantage of all that is offered.

The updates to our plans are highlighted above; you can learn more about them on this 2025 benefits microsite. The elections you make during annual enrollment will take effect on January 1, 2025, and remain in place throughout the 2025 calendar year unless you have a qualifying life event, such as marriage, divorce, or the birth of a child. However if EOI is still pending for life, AD&D or LTD insurance as of January 1, 2025, that coverage will take effect upon the approval of EOI rather than on January 1.

Your enrollment checklist

  1. Know your options and costs. Review your current benefit elections in HRConnect. Access HRConnect through OKTA on SegalNet, click on Me, then on Benefits.
  2. Reexamine your supplemental and spouse/child life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) and supplemental long-term disability insurance needs. Log in to or register at thehartford.com/benefits/enroll to enroll in or make changes to your supplemental life, spouse/child life and/or AD&D and supplemental long-term disability insurance, review your beneficiary designations for supplemental life insurance, and see your costs for 2025, by November 6, 2024.
  3. Enroll through HRConnect, and complete your annual enrollment elections, by November 6, 2024.
    • Verify that each of your family members’ names and corresponding Social Insurance numbers on file are correct. To check this information, access HRConnect through OKTA.
    • Update your personal information and beneficiary designations. If you have recently married, divorced, had a child, or experienced any other relevant family change, make sure your records are updated. It’s also important that you designate a basic group life insurance beneficiary if you haven’t done so.

Don’t wait until the last minute to enroll!

While we’re all very busy, please don’t wait until the last minute to enroll in 2025 benefits. And please ensure your time zone in HRConnect is correctly set to your local time, so that your ability to make annual enrollment elections in HRConnect does not end earlier due to an inaccurate time zone. Instructions are available on the 2025 benefits microsite.

What happens if you don’t enroll?

You must enroll if:

  • You want to make any changes to your coverage
  • If you have duplicate dependents listed in HRConnect and want to eliminate the duplicate records. Please do so by following the instructions for deleting duplicate dependents posted on the 2025 benefits microsite
  • If you want an electronic beneficiary designation (rather than paper record) for your basic group life insurance.

If you are not affected by the above, you do not need to take any action to update your benefit elections. However, you must still review your:

  • Elections in HRConnect and The Hartford during annual enrollment and keep a record of them (print to paper or to a file)
  • Elections in HRConnect and The Hartford after annual enrollment ends and keep a record of them (print to paper or to a file), and
  • Paycheck contributions for the 1st payroll of 2025.

Ensure they are all correct. Report any discrepancies to Janet Arce and Winnie Tang no later than January 31, 2025.
