2025 Benefit Contributions
2025 Benefit Contributions
The Aetna HDHP premium is increasing 4% and the Aetna PPO premium is increasing 3%. These are the self-insured plans in which the majority of employees are enrolled and these premium increases are far below our actual cost increases and below the national trend of what Segal is projecting for employer healthcare cost increases in 2025. However, The Aetna EPO fully insured plan has a very large increase for 2025 and the Emblem Health HMO has a large increase. The Kaiser HMO fully insured plans increases are below trend. For fully insured plans, Segal has less control over rates. Because Segal health benefit contributions are based on salary tier to be more equitable, employee contributions on average reflect these premium increases.
Even though there will be modest increases for the HDHP and PPO plans, several of our benefits have zero increase for 2025.
In addition to the enhancement to the Guardian dental program, we are also not increasing employee contributions for the 3rd year in a row. And, we are not increasing employee contributions for the VSP vision plan offerings for the 3rd year in a row.
Supplemental life, AD&D, spouse and dependent life and AD&D, and supplemental long-term disability employee rates are also not increasing in 2025.
